How to reach a loft through a mouse-hole? Our house has a mechanical loft that only needs intermittent access. A space-hogging stairway was out of the question. But ladders can be tricky to negotiate if they’re not properly designed. Lael, John and I all collaborated to come up with a ‘swing-out’ version. The side rails and bent extension at the top, make climbing up and down really easy. And the wheels at the bottom allow the ladder to swing into place, only when needed and roll back against the wall when it’s not. Fabricator Dan Mella aced it!
